Melinda Colón Cox, Esq. is a litigation associate at the law firm of Parker, Ibrahim & Berg, LLC, a boutique firm in Bridgewater, New Jersey that represents national banks, mortgage lenders, mortgage servicers, and other financial services companies. Between 2009 and 2011, Melinda was law clerk to the Hon. Michael A. Shipp, U.S.M.J. in the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey.  Prior to her clerkship, Melinda was an associate at the law firm of Wilentz, Goldman & Spitzer, P.A., as a member of the Redevelopment Team, Redevelopment Strategic Business Unit Team and the Commercial Real Estate Team.

She received her B.A. from Union College and her J.D. from Rutgers School of Law - Newark. While attending law school, Melinda was the Senior Articles Editor for the Rutgers Law Review, President of the Association of Latin American Law Students, Class Representative on the Student Bar Association, a student attorney for the Rutgers Community Law Clinic and Co-Chair of the Student Affairs Committee for the Minority Student Program.

Prior to law school, she worked as a pro bono legal assistant at Shearman & Sterling, LLP in New York City, assisting families who tragically lost loved ones in the September 11th attacks, domestic violence victims and political asylees. Melinda has been on the Board of the HBA-NJ since 2008 and established the Young Lawyers Committee in 2009/2010.
