Nuris E. Portuondo, Esq., is a partner in the Morristown office of Schwartz Simon Edelstein Celso & Zitomer, LLC, where she focuses her litigation practice in the areas of construction, employment, complex commercial, and insurance law. With over ten years of litigation experience, Nuris oversees the firm’s Construction Litigation Group and has experience handling complex construction litigation including construction defect claims, professional negligence claims, as well as personal injury cases arising out of construction accidents. She also has extensive experience representing management and frequently counsels clients on employment issues. Prior to joining the firm, Nuris served as a judicial clerk for the Hon. Hector E. DeSoto and Hon. Richard C. Camp, Superior Court of New Jersey, Essex County. A leader in the community, Nuris has served on several boards including the Board of Trustees for the United Way of Summit. She is a longtime member of the New Jersey State Bar Association, the Hispanic National Bar Association, and the Hispanic Bar Association of New Jersey. Nuris received her B.A. from Purdue University and her J.D. from Hofstra University School of Law.
