1. Attorney 1 – Municipal Court Services Division (10-03-24) – Closing date: February 10, 2010
Location: Trenton, NJ – Salary Range: $59,570 - $92,839
The New Jersey Judiciary is seeking an Attorney to work under the direction of the Court Executive 2b (Chief Municipal Court Services, Judiciary) or other supervisory personnel. This individual will review and analyze new legislation; assist in developing an “Electronic Municipal Court Bench Book”; prepare reports of findings from legal research; and review ordinances, statutes and regulations for inclusion in the ATS/ACS schedule via JUATS. This individual will also be responsible for updating the Statewide Violation Bureau Schedule and the Uniform Traffic Ticket, and undertake such other assignments as may be made by the Court Executive 2b, or other supervisory personnel.
Requires graduation from an American Bar Association-approved law school and one (1) year of legal experience that has included professional legal research and analyzing and evaluating legal documents, rules, regulations, and legislation or one year of experience as a New Jersey Judicial law clerk.

2. Court Executive 2b – Civil Division Manager (1-10) – Closing date: February 10, 2010
Location: Freehold, NJ – Salary Range: $80,793 - $115,991; New Jersey Bar not required
The Monmouth Vicinage is seeking an individual with strong leadership, managerial, interpersonal and administrative skills with the ability to collaborate and build strong partnerships. The Court Executive 2b (Civil Division Manager) will oversee approximately 87 managerial, professional, and support staff. Under the direction of the Court Executive 3b (Trial Court Administrator), and as a member of the Vicinage Management Team, the incumbent will work with the Presiding Judge of the Civil Division to oversee and manage all civil court operations and will formulate and direct the implementation of Judiciary plans, programs, policies and procedures, and manage Judiciary resources. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following: direct case flow management; direct all aspects of the human resources function: hiring, assigning work, discipline, assessing staff performance, training, mentoring/coaching staff and providing direction and feedback, and recommending personnel actions; implement programs, operating procedures or systems (including information systems) to enhance operations and comply with requirements; advise managers on deadlines, rules, regulations or related information; interpret accounting or financial data; prepare and review budgets; lead team or work unit meetings; prepare technical reports; evaluate effectiveness of and implement programs to provide outstanding customer service; explain judiciary policies and/or procedures to court users and internal and external customers; investigate complaints; respond to attorney, litigant or citizen complaints; and perform all other related duties as required.
Requires graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree and five (5) years of professional administrative and/or program management experience, three (3) of which shall have included responsibility for program development and/or implementation and for supervision of staff. Applicants who do not possess the required education may substitute experience on a year-for-year basis. A master’s degree may be substituted for one (1) year of experience as indicated above. A law degree may be substituted for two (2) years of experience as indicated above.
