On November 3, 2006, Assistant Federal Public Defender Esther Salas was sworn in as a Magistrate Judge in the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey. Salas served as President of the Hispanic Bar Association of New Jersey during the 2001-2002 term.

On January 1, 2007 Miguel Alexander Pozo, Esq. became a Member of the firm in the Litigation Department of Lowenstein Sandler. Mr. Pozo represents corporations and businesses in a broad range of federal and state court litigation matters.

On November 30, 2006 Juan Cartagena, Esq. was given the Felix Fishman Award by the New York Lawyers for the Public Interest for his “unwavering commitment to the defense of civil rights.” Cartagena was honored for his continued efforts to educate the next generation on civil rights and constitutional law from an activist perspective. He presently serves as General Counsel for the Hispanic Bar Association of New Jersey.
