Lowenstein Sandler Litigation Partner, Miguel Alexander Pozo Awarded Two Prestigious “Forty Under 40″ Honors
Roseland, NJ (August 12, 2009) Lowenstein Sandler PC is proud to announce that Miguel Alexander Pozo, Esq., Member of the Firm, has been selected for two prestigious honors. In July, Mr. Pozo received the 2009 NJBIZ “Forty Under 40″ award, which recognizes men and women for excellence in business, professional achievement and commitment to community. On Monday, the New Jersey Law Journal named him to its 2009 “40 Under 40″ list, an award given to the top leaders in the state’s legal community.
In addition to this year’s honors from NJBIZ and New Jersey Law Journal, Mr. Pozo was named a “Rising Star” by New Jersey Super Lawyers magazine (2007) and was listed among New Jersey Law Journal’s “50 Leading Women and Minority Attorneys” (2005).
“Miguel is an outstanding litigator, a leader within the firm, and an integral member of the

An attorney in the firm’s Litigation Department, Mr. Pozo has ten years of experience
representing Fortune 500 corporations, businesses, and non-profit organizations in a broad range
of federal and state court litigation matters. His work has included all phases of fact and expert
discovery, motion practice, trials, arbitrations, and mediations. Most recently, Mr. Pozo has
counseled clients in matters involving business torts, contract disputes, employment litigation,
and consumer fraud class actions. His representative clients include LVMH Moet Hennessy
Louis Vuitton, TAG Heuer, MTV Networks, The Julliard School and Christian Dior, among
others.
A first generation college and law school graduate, Mr. Pozo is an advocate for diversity in the
legal profession and is passionate about creating opportunities for diverse attorneys. He leads the
team that created and launched DiversityisNatural.com, a new Web site and initiative of
Lowenstein Sandler dedicated to fostering the advancement of women and minorities in the legal
profession.
He serves as President-Elect of the Hispanic Bar Association of New Jersey and is set become
the HBA-NJ’s 30th president when he is installed at a ceremony on October 29, 2009 at the W
Hotel in Hoboken, New Jersey. Additionally, Mr. Pozo is the New Jersey Regional President for
the Hispanic National Bar Association. He has also served on the Supreme Court of New Jersey,
Office of Attorney Ethics - District Ethics Committee and the Supreme Court of New Jersey,
Criminal Practice Committee.
Mr. Pozo serves on the Board of Trustees for the Boys and Girls Club of Newark and is a
member of the Newark Museum’s Latino Programming and Marketing Committee. His
commitment to civic involvement has earned him numerous awards, including the
“Scouting…Vale La Pena!” community service award from the Boys Scouts of America and the
“Nuestra Inspiración Latino Award” from LALSA of Seton Hall Law School. In 2008, Mr.
Pozo’s community service earned him a distinct honor from Essence; the national magazine
selected him as one of 50 “Do Right” men in the country, and the only attorney honored on that
year’s list.
Mr. Pozo earned his J.D. from Rutgers University School of Law - Newark, where he was
Managing Editor of Rutgers Race and the Law Review, and his B.A. from Hofstra University. A
frequent panelist and speaker, he has addressed a wide range of topics for numerous conferences
and organizations, including: “Managing Risk Through Education: The General Counsel’s Role
in Training,” at the NACUA 48th Annual Conference and “Litigation Management Techniques,”
at the Thurgood Marshall College Fund Leadership Institute.
