Jorge de Armas is a senior counsel to the firm. He has been with the firm since 2004. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. de Armas was a Law Clerk to the Hon. Dorothea O’C. Wefing of the New Jersey State Superior Court, Appellate Division.
His practice areas have included governmental representation and litigation, appellate and civil litigation, real estate development, commercial law and administrative law. His governmental law activities have included the representation of municipal and governmental agency clients, including public utilities, in public contracting and litigation, public employment, public records access, redevelopment and environmental compliance issues. He also represents real estate developers with issues related to land use litigation and environmental compliance issues, and election law concerns. He also represents clients in front of the Bureau of Tideland Management. He has argued matters in front of the Superior Court Appellate Division, Superior Court Law and Equity Divisions, and various administrative tribunals throughout the State of New Jersey.
Mr. de Armas was actively involved in the firm's representation of The Bergen County Utilities Authority and the Town of West New York.
Mr. de Armas has participated in the representation of clients such as Infinity Broadcasting, Sporting News Radio, Honeywell International, Inc. Atlantic Realty Development Corp., Hartz Mountain Industries, Inc., the New York Times, and the Greater Newark Conservancy.
