Renaissance Properties, iPlay America and Related Entities are currently recruiting for a full-time position as General Counsel to be based out of our corporate offices in Old Bridge N.J.  We are part of a full service real estate development and management organization that focuses on all aspects of commercial, residential and entertainment real estate development primarily in Middlesex and Monmouth Counties, New Jersey.  

As General Counsel, your job responsibilities will include, but are not limited, to: 


  • ·       Draft and negotiate through execution, including coordination of property manager(s), construction team and accounting 
  • ·       Create abstract of lease and coordinate delivery of space and lease commencement
  • ·       Preparation of tenant default notices, collections and court appearances
  • ·       Forbearance and non-disturbance agreements
  • ·       Lease amendments and tenant disputes


  • ·       Drafting and negotiating of contracts of sale for commercial and residential properties
  • ·       Deal terms and loan agreements with lender(s) from initial commitment through closing of title
  • ·       Formation of operating agreements and LLC(s)
  • ·       Buy/Sell agreements between partnerships

Land Use:  

  • ·       Coordination of applications
  • ·       Attend meetings
  • ·       Prepare deeds
  • ·       Restrictive covenants and easements
  • ·       Review resolutions of approval for compliance

HOA Docs:

  • ·       Formation and processing of documents with DCA
  • ·       Mitigate transition

Service Agreements and Insurance:

  • ·       Responsible for negotiating and maintaining:
  • o   Equipment leases
  • o   Service contracts for mechanicals
  • o   Annual contracts w/vendors
  • o   Contractors and contracts for special events
  • o   Negotiating and processing of  insurance claims

Outside Counsel:

  • ·       Coordinate workload and interface with outside counsel as the needs arise.

Skills and Requirements:

  • ·       10 years of experience as a licensed N.J. Lawyer with a primary practice in the field of real estate
  • ·       Advanced knowledge of Excel. Proficient in Word and Outlook.
  • ·       Willing to work in a fast-paced environment
  • ·       Analytical/detail oriented
  • ·       Proven work ethic, dependable and reliable
  • ·       Good verbal and written communication English language skills
  • ·       Ability to multi-task
  • ·       Maintain time sheets for inter company billing to multiple entities 
  • ·       Participation with management team with good business sense  
  • ·       Pro-active approach and problem solver
