Rider University’s Division of Academic Affairs invites applications for an Associate Provost and Legal Counsel. This individual will act as the principal advisor to the Provost & Vice President for Academic Affairs, and will share his/her administrative workload. Responsibilities encompass wide-ranging legal, labor, regulatory, and personnel matters as well as oversight of the Center for International Education, the Center for Accessibility and Support Services, and the Rebovich Institute for New Jersey Politics. The successful candidate will assist in the negotiation and administration of the collective bargaining agreement covering Rider’s faculty, librarians, and coaches.

Position Qualifications

The successful candidate must possess a J.D. and substantial experience in labor relations and legal practice. Interpersonal and supervisory skills required. An earned doctorate and higher education experience is preferred. Administrative and teaching experience is highly desirable.
