Hudson County Assistant Prosecutor Opening - All Levels of Experience Are Encouraged to Apply

Hudson County is now accepting applications for Assistant Prosecutors.  Prosecuting attorneys represent local, state, or federal governments in criminal court cases. In addition to trying cases, they also interview witnesses or victims, evaluate police reports, and perform legal research to plan the prosecution of each case.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Representing the State of New Jersey in criminal matters prosecuted by the Office of the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office;
  • Providing legal advice to law enforcement agencies;
  • Performing On-Call duties on a rotational basis;
  • Community Engagement; and
  • Other tasks as assigned.

Requirements include, but are not limited to:         

  • Member in Good Standing with the New Jersey State Bar;
  • 1-5+ years of criminal experience, preferred but not required;
  • New Jersey Criminal Law Clerkship preferred, but not required;
  • Successful passing of a comprehensive background check, drug screening and medical exam;
  • Valid New Jersey State Driver’s License; and
  • New Jersey State Residency required within 1 year of hire.

SALARY & BENEFITS: Competitive Salary with full County of Hudson Benefits. Salary will be commensurate with experience.
