Hamilton Township Mayor-elect Jeffrey Martin’s Legal & Court Operations Transition Committee seeks qualified candidates for the following positions:  

(1)    Director of Law;

(2)    Assistant Director of Law;

(2)  Municipal Court Judge;

(3)  Municipal Prosecutor; and

(4)  Municipal Public Defender.

The Township of Hamilton seeks candidates to serve as Director of Law. The candidate should have excellent writing and communication skills. She or he should have a broad range of experience and knowledge in municipal government law. Prior experience in the civil litigation (Title 59, civil rights, labor and employment law) is necessary. Experience collective bargaining negotiations and New Jersey’s Civil Service system is desirable. The candidate must be an attorney in good standing licensed to practice law in the State of New Jersey. EEO/AA/ADA Employer.

The Township of Hamilton seeks candidates to serve as Municipal Court Judge. The candidate should have excellent communications skills and substantial municipal court experience. Prior experience in criminal law is necessary. Prior experience as a Municipal Court Judge is preferred. The candidate must be an attorney in good standing licensed to practice law in the State of New Jersey. EEO/AA/ADA Employer.

The Township of Hamilton seeks candidates to serve as Municipal Court Prosecutor. The candidate should have excellent communications skills and substantial municipal court experience. Prior experience in criminal law is necessary. Prior experience as a Municipal Court Prosecutor is preferred. The Township of Hamilton seeks candidates to serve as Municipal Court Public Defender. The candidate should have excellent communications skills and substantial municipal court experience. Prior experience in criminal law is necessary. Prior experience as a Municipal Court Prosecutor or Public Defender is preferred.
